PSN: Online 2MORROW ?!? (rumor)

Neil Martin, a database security engineer expert, has told NowGamer that he expects the PlayStation Network (PSN) to be back up on Wednesday.

He claims that the service will be back at some point this week at the latest, even as early as Wednesday considering the time and staff already working on fixing the issues.


“The only change the consumer may see is to the way we log in to PSN.”

"The main thing Sony will be doing now is taking the original server code and they will be rebuilding it using new login keys for their admin side," he said.

Discussing these changes, Martin claims Sony "will probably take the chance to change the developers root key that was recently leaked, which tellls the PSN that a particular piece of software is licensed and allowed to use the PlayStation Network."

"This could mean all previous software will require a patch when it comes back online," Martin continues, "but inconvenience like that will be secondary to the loss of revenue via piracy and loss of security if they don't change it."

Martin then clarifies possible changes to the service, "the only change the consumer may see is to the way we log in to PSN."


"Automated logins may be disabled, which is what a lot of the Distributed Denial of Service attack programs use to strain the servers."


The PSN service is in its seventh day offline, with still no news from Sony regarding when the network will be back on.

I dont know What that means for the PSP & especially SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3,

If there will be a patch for the PSP online Games, it will not be like the 1.10 Update/Patch, but a way more difficult/complicated patch.

It could also be, that Sony will disallow .ISO/.CSO/the pX Edition from getting online (games which need the PSN to login) [yay, no more cheaters ]

Please consider, that this is my personal opinion. Also remember that the PS3 has a higher priority as the PSP, so it could be that there wont be anything at all for the PSP, because Sony actually doesnt care anymore about the PSP.

thanks for the info deekay. my cousin told me a similar thing to this. i mean i really dont want anymore cheaters online honestly even though im one of them but i dont go around freezing rooms for no reason and hacking. i use my hacks for good. but it will kind of suck. i do use the paradox edition i like the extrz inf ammo and all fire modes (i have P_C's version) like f2k three shot burst is amazing i love it. but i dont put the modded attachments i find it stupid the need of modded weapons "i my opinion". but that was off topic lol. thanks gain

well at least i can still get free games.....
i also destroyed my FTB3 CSO with a code that corrupted the CSO's RAM...i'll just re-copy/paste it though.
but thx for the info. DKT....and if we get a update patch for ftb3 im personally porting my code's just for myself and not giving to nobody...just so the game can be back to normal no more hacking...but thats if we get a new patch

cuz they're to worried about getting the latest ftb3 codes but it's gay that there will be no more automatic logins

I really dont think the auto logins would be a problem unless of course you cant remember your password if you cant then ur screwed hehe

For real me and shootemup haven't gone on psn with our ps3s in a while and we don't complain theres no need actually when u have a bunch of badass single player games.

even with psn down. i haven't touched my psp after spring break. i stayed on ftb2 for like 5 days. then never touched my psp again. i feel good though lol
